Abstract:
The feasibility to improve indium leaching rate from high acid leaching residue in zinc hydrometallurgy was investigated applying solution of H2SO4, HCl-NaCl, and NaOH respectively as leaching agent. The results show that the main cause of low indium leaching rate is package formation of insoluble materials, such as SnO2, PbO, SiO2, MeS and secondary PbSO4 from sulfuric acid leaching process. Those packages can be effectively unpacked by alkaline treatment and with assistance of ball milling, and indium leaching rate can be improved to 97% above. Workable principles process is proposed.
