Abstract:
Calculated diameter of “head of mushroom” (HOM) is 60.2 mm with some rate of gas flowing based on thermal balance. Area of HOM was defined as porous media by commercial software FLUENT. Process of formation and growing up until burst of bubbles influenced by porous media was simulated by VOF model. Through comparision with condition without porous media, there is an obvious difference in flowing with existing of porous media according to simulation results. Existing of porous media results in bigger volume and surface area of bubble, sphere-like shape and longer maintance of bubble in furnace, which facilitate flowing and reaction of gas and molten liquid in furnace.
