Abstract:
Influence factors on emulsification during scandium extraction from titanium white waste acid and elimination method were investigated. The results show that TBP assisted extraction system is the best system to eliminate emulsification phenomenon. Titanium white waste acid calls for pretreatment due to effect of solid particle in waste acid on extraction. During extraction, either too high or too low acidity will cause hydrolysis of metal elements and leads to emulsification, thus the suitable H concentration is 2.0~3.0 g/L. Maintaining a certain temperature can effectively prevent emulsification. Organic phase should be purified, regularly supplemented, or even all replaced to reduce emulsification.
