Abstract:
Distribution, pollution level and genesis of 226Ra in groundwater around uranium tailings pond were investigated by synthesized index method based on single factor index. The results show that the maximum and minimum single factor pollution index of groundwater in study area is ?1.52 and 0.65 respectively. The synthesized pollution index is 1.34, demonstrating a light pollution of groundwater in study area. Activity of 226Ra in groundwater is weaker in southwest and stronger in northeast. Migration and enrichment of 226Ra in groundwater may be caused by runoff condition. In addition, human uranium mining activates plenty of 226Ra. 226Ra entering into water, results in pollution of groundwater. Hydrogeology condition, hydrochemistry parameters and water chemical composition of the study area also exert effect on migration and enrichment of 226Ra in groundwater.
