Abstract:
Morphology and quality of cathode plate in copper electrowinning under high current density were investigated applying simulated production field equipment of extraction-electrowinning. The results show that copper electrowinning system can be stably operated at high current density of 280 A/m2 and can produce final cathode copper which meets the standard of Grade No.1 cathode copper in terms of appearance and chemical composition under the conditions including temperature of 45 ℃, Cu2 concentration in solution of 45 g/L, acidity of 180 g/L, controlling additives (cobalt ion, Gul glue, and thiourea) at certain initial concentration, and then adjusting amount of Gul glue and thiourea in solution circulation.
