Abstract:
Dissolution behavior of PbO in alkaline solutions containing xylitol was investigated by orthogonal test and single factor test. The results show that concentrations of xylitol and sodium hydroxide exert significant effects on PbO dissolved amount, while dissolution temperature and time have few effects. Both xylitol and sodium hydroxide react with PbO in dissolution procedure. PbO dissolved amount rises with increas of concentration of xylitol or sodium hydroxide. The reaction ratios of PbO/xylitol and PbO/NaOH are 1︰1 and 1︰2 respectively. XRD and FTIR analysis indicate that resultant may be metal alkoxides. The reaction mechanism is also discussed.
