Abstract:
The effects of mass fraction of CaO-SiO2 on conductivity, density, and primary crystal temperature of CaCl2-CaF2 molten salts were investigated. The results show that with addition of 2% CaO-SiO2, primary crystal temperature rises by an average of 17.5 ℃, density rises of 0.015 1g/cm3, and conductivity rises of 0.224 13 S/cm. The results indirectly demonstrate that CaO and SiO2 in electrolyte exist in the form of silicate molecular.
