Abstract:
Manganese oxide ore tailings were leached by SO2 in sulfuric acid solution. Lixivium was purified and reacted with ammonium bicarbonate to recover manganese carbonate. Under the optimum conditions, manganese leaching rate is 96% above, removal rate of Fe, Al, and Si is 100%, 99.6%, and 96.9% respectively with the optimum pH value of 5.2 adjusted by ammonia addition. Manganese precipitation rate is 99.8%. Total manganese recovery rate is 90.5%. MnCO3 product meets the requirement of the first grade of Standard HG/T4203-2011 Industrial Manganese Carbonate.
