Abstract:
      A cobalt smelting plant applyies neutralizing hydrolysis process to remove iron. Process of iron removal has low iron removal rate and high cobalt entrainment in slag (up to 14%). Iron was removed from lixivium after copper removal by neutralizing hydrolysis process. Effect of parameter on iron removal was investigated. The results show that iron removal rate is 99% and cobalt entrainment rate is 1% below under the conditions including redox potential of 0.40 V, terminal pH value of 4.00~4.25, iron removal time of 6.5 h above, air flow of 0.8 time volum of solution per minute, and temperature of 50 ℃ above.
