Study on Laser Coating of Al3Ti3CoCrCu0.5FeMoNi High-entropy Alloy

Abstract:
      Al3Ti3CoCrCu0.5FeMoNi alloy coating composed of single phase was synthesized by laser cladding. Two-element intermetallic compound was separated from matrix after annealing. The morphology, phase structure, and micro-hardness of coatings were analyzed by SEM, XRD, and microhardness tester. The results show that Al3Ti3CoCrCu0.5FeMoNi coating prepared by laser cladding is of BCC structure with hardness of 905.2 HV. BCC structure of coating remains when annealed at 500 ℃. After annealed at 700 ℃ above, Al2Ti3 precipitates from BCC parent phase of coating, and size of Al2Ti3 rises with increase of annealing temperature. Hardness value of coating drops firstly and then rises with increase of annealing temperature. Precipitation of Al2Ti3 results in rise of hardness of coating. After annealing at 900 ℃, hardness of coating is 938.8 HV, higher than that of non-annealed.
