Abstract:
Al-Mg-Sc alloy was prepared by Coelectrodeposition Method. Time variation of process parameters such as decomposition voltage and current intensity were monitored by Continuous Pulse Oscillograph Method. The results show that actual decomposition voltage rises with increase of current intensity. Decomposition voltage drops on average of 0.3 V with addition of 0.5%MgO-0.5%Sc2O3. Actual decomposition voltage rises firstly with increase of pole distance, and later growth gradually slows, as raising temperature reduces actual decomposition voltage. According to actual decomposition voltage with variation of electrolysis time, feeding period is determined to be 23 min. Al-2.71%Mg-0.63%Sc alloy is prepared by electrolyzing for 2 h with temperature of 720 ℃, current intensity of 3 A, and pole distance of 3 cm.
