Abstract:
Trace iron was removed from nickel sulfate electrolyte by macro-porous cation exchange resin with trade mark of Monophos. Effects of Ni concentration, pH value, ratio of resin to liquid volume (RR/L), temperature and adsorption time on adsorption of Fe and Ni were investigated by orthogonal experiments and single factor experiments. The results show that affecting sequence on Fe adsorption is from adsorption time, pH value, RR/L, temperature, to concentration. In addition, RR/L is an important factor influencing both Fe removal rate and Ni loss rate. Fe removal rate is about 89% and Ni loss rate is about 13% after 4 h adsorption with RR/L=1︰6. Fe removal rate is about 76% and Ni loss rate is about 7% after 4 h adsorption with RR/L=1︰12.
