Abstract:
Effects of smelting temperature, smelting time and basicity of metallized pellets of vanadium-titanium magnetite were investigated by single factor experiments. Thermodynamics diagram of CaO-SiO2-TiO2 system under various basicity was drawn by Factsage software. Characteristics of smelting slag were analyzed with XRD, and smelting-separation process for metallized pellets of vanadium-titanium magnetite was studied. The results demonstrate that appropriate increase of smelting temperature, smelting time and basicity of metallized pellets are beneficial for slag-iron separation. When basicity of metallized pellets exceeds 1.0, melting temperature of slag rises due to composition of slag system reaching to high temperature zone. When smelting time exceeds 40 min, TiN content gradually rises in slag to increase viscosity of slag and impedes slag-iron separation. The optimum smelting-separation conditions of metallized pellets include smelting temperature of 1 550 ℃, smelting time of 40 min, and basicity of R=1.0.
