Abstract:
Thermal decomposition process of jarosite residue was investigated by TG-DSC and high temperature in-situ XRD. Jarosite residue was pretreated in resistance furnace to remove sulfur. The results show that there are two decomposition reactions of NaFe3(SO4)2(OH)6 and Fe2(SO4)3 in thermal decomposition process of jarosite residue, and ZnO?Fe2O3 and Fe2O3 is the main product after jarosite residue’s being roasted at 800 ℃. Activation energy of thermal decomposition reaction at temperature ranges of 350~450 ℃ and 630~800 ℃ is 150 kJ/mol and 170 kJ/mol respectively calculated by Kissinger method and Flynn-Wall-Ozawa method. The two reactions are subject to interfacial chemical reaction control with reaction mechanism function G(α) of 1-(1-α)1/3 and 1-(1-α)1/2 respectively. The results of roasting desulfurization show that the desulfurization rate is 98.57% under the optimum conditions including roasting temperature of 1 300 ℃, roasting time of 20 min at neutral atmosphere, and gas flow rate of 0.4 m3/h. ZnO?Fe2O3 and Fe2O3 are the main phases of roasted jarosite residue, heavy metal ions are solidified, and harmful elements are removed effectively.
