Abstract:
Industrial beryllium-bearing wastewater was treated by alkali precipitation and ferrite precipitation process. Effects of alkali precipitant, ferrite, reaction pH, and poly aluminum dosage on beryllium removal were investigated. The results show that beryllium concentration in effluent drops from 2 438 μg/L to 2.7 μg/L below with beryllium removal efficiency of 99.9% under the optimum conditions including calcium hydroxide dosage of 3.6 kg/m3, ferrite dosage of 0.05 kg/m3, reaction pH of 8~9, and poly aluminum dosage of 0.1 kg/m3. The beryllium concentration of effluent met the national wastewater discharge standard.
