Abstract:
Vanadium nitride (VN) was synthesized by reduction and nitridation from the mixture obtained by adding carbon black to stripping solution which is an intermediate product during vanadium recovery from black shale. The results show that nitrogen content in product reaches maximum value with C/V2O5 mass ratio of 0.30. Nitrogen content in product rises rapidly first and later stays at a constant level with increase of reaction temperature. Reduction and nitridation are almost complete for 1 h at 1 150 ℃. The optimum N2 flow velocity and briquetting pressure are 300 mL/min and 10 kN respectively. XRD pattern of product under the optimum process conditions is VN with high purity. VN product meets the requirement of chemical composition of VN16 in GB/T 20567-2006.
