Abstract:
      Dissolution process of Nb2O5 in sulfuric acid was studied. Dissolution products of niobium oxide were determined based on thermodynamic phase diagram and previous experimental results. Dissolution mechanism of Nb2O5 in sulfuric acid was investigated by measuring conductivity of H2SO4-Nb2O4SO4-H2O system. The results show that dissolved product Nb2O4SO4 exists as a stable complex in solution with stability constant of 572. The coordination theory of coordination dissolution suggests that dissolution of Nb2O5 in acid is promoted.
