| Abstract: |
| DRI titanium slag is easy to recovery for utilization due to its high quality and strong activity, and can be replaced for ilmenite to produce titanium dioxide, which is the development trend of titanium dioxide by sulfuric acid process. However, compared with ilmenite, iron content of DRI titanium slag drops significantly, content of calcium, magnesium and aluminum rise obviously, which cannot be directly applied to the existing sulfuric acid process. A new process to prepare titanium dioxide with DRI titanium slag is explored based on process mineralogy characteristics. High-quality titanium dioxide is successfully prepared by two processes including combination of pre-purification of raw materials and sulfuric acid process, and combination of aluminum precipitation from acid solution and sulfuric acid process. |
