Abstract:
Ni-Co/ZrO2 coating was prepared in sulfamate solution by codeposition. By means of electrochemistry, codeposition behavior and electrochemical reaction process in early stage of electrocrystallization of coating were studied by cathodic linear scanning and chronoamperometry test. Nucleation model of Ni-Co/ZrO2 coating was explored. Surface morphology and microstructure of coating were characterized. The results show that codeposition potential of Ni-Co/ZrO2 coating is about -0.80 V, and nucleation/growth process of coating is consistent with Scharifker-Hill transient nucleation model controlled by diffusion. Surface of Ni-Co/ZrO2 coating is homogeneous and compact with fine grain and good thermal stability.
