| Abstract: |
| Ilmenite was reduced by molten salt electrolysis in LiCl-KCl eutectic molten salt. Effects of reacting time, cell voltage and temperature on electrolysis process were studied. Mechanism of oxygen removal from ilmenite was discussed. The results show that iron in ilmenite is reduced firstly and titanium oxides are deoxidized step by step. Titanium and its alloy cannot be obtained. Reduction of TiO is the key step to prepare titanium and its alloy by molten salt electrolysis in LiCl-KCl eutectic molten salt. |
