Abstract:
Bio-polymerized ferric sulfate flocculant was prepared by microbiological method to flocculate low-concentration uranium wastewater. Effects of pH value of U(VI) solution, flocculant dosage and initial concentration of U(VI) on flocculation effect were investigated. The results show that the optimum pH value of reaction is 5~7, and reaction equilibrium time is 5 min. Process of flocculation follows Lagergren quasi-secondary reaction kinetics model. After flocculation by bio-polymerized ferric sulfate, the residual uranium concentration is lower than the emission limit in the Radiation Protection Regulations for Uranium Processing and Fuel Manufacturing Facilities (EJ 1056-2005, 0.05 mg/L).
