Abstract:
Zinc oxide and barium aluminate are mixed and grinded as complex desulfurizer. Effects of ore sulfur content, ratio and dosage of desulfurizer on digestion rate of sulfur and alumina of high sulfur bauxite ore were investigated based on optimization digestion process. The results show that digestion rate of sulfur rises with increase of sulfur content in ore. Composite desulfurizer is beneficial to improve digestion effect of zinc oxide. Zinc oxide plays a major role in desulfurization, while barium aluminate acts as decarburization with poor desulfurization effect. For the ore with sulfur content of 1.1%, when 10% of theoretical amount of zinc oxide is added, digestion rate of sulfur drops from 18.4% to 11.15%, and digestion rate of sulfur drops only to 9.71% with addition of 100% of theoretical amount of barium aluminate. Sulfur digestion rate drops to 9.65% with addition of 14% of theoretical amount of zinc oxide and 40% of barium aluminate.
