Abstract:
Iron was recovered from copper flotation tailings by direct smelting reduction and magnetic separation. Effects of dosage of carbon powder and calcium oxide, and roasting time on iron recovery and iron concentrate in magnetic separation of reduced slag at roasting temperature of 1 350 ℃ were discussed. The results show that copper flotation tailings are smelting reduced under the conditions including dosage of carbon powder and calcium oxide of 32% and 10% mass fraction of copper slag, and roasting time of 100 min. Reduced iron concentrate with iron grade of 67.47% and iron recovery of 92.32% is obtained from calcine with particle size of 85% of -0.074 mm by magnetic separation.
