Abstract:
Effects of forming pressure on microstructure and properties of copper-based friction materials were investigated. The results show that with increase of forming pressure, density of copper-based friction materials remains unchanged, porosity drops obviously, and compactness rises. When forming pressure rises from 60 t to 100 t, hardness of copper-based friction materials is obviously improved. With continuous increase of forming pressure, hardness of friction material drops. Friction coefficient of copper-based friction materials drops first and then rises with increase of forming pressure. Cu-based powder metallurgy friction materials has optimum comprehensive properties under forming pressure of 100 t.
