| Abstract: |
| Ilmenite was reduced by molten salt electrolysis in CaCl2 melts. Effects of cell voltage and temperature on electrolysis process were investigated under the conditions of cell voltage of 3.0 V or 3.1 V and temperature of 825~900 ℃. Process to remove oxygen from ilmenite was discussed. The results show that iron in ilmenite is reduced firstly. TiFe2 alloy is easy to form in reaction area where iron content is high. Cell voltage has a big influence on electrolysis product. Raising reaction temperature is beneficial for diffusion-alloying process of titanium and iron. |
