| Abstract: |
| Applying spent lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide battery as raw material, valuable metals in waste lithium ion battery were effectively recovered through separation of active material, leaching, and stepwise chemical precipitation. Leaching experiments were conducted applying H2SO4 as leaching agent and (NH4)2SO3 as reductant. Leaching efficiency of Co, Ni, Mn and Li is 97.61%, 98.40%, 97.91% and 98.43% respectively under the optimum leaching conditions including H2SO4 concentration of 1.0 mol/L, (NH4)2SO3 concentration of 0.34 mol/L, ratio of solid to liquid of 25 g/L, reaction temperature of 60 ℃ and reaction time of 40 min. Ni, Co and Mn in leachate are recovered by coprecipitation. Li+ in mother liquor is recovered by adding saturated Na2CO3. |
