Abstract:
Based on distribution characteristics of thallium in secondary replacement solution of zinc sulphate solution in industry, thallium was removed from this solution by zinc powder replacement, zinc powder + activated carbon, zinc powder + potassium permanganate, and zinc powder + lead acetate, respectively. The results show that Tl removal rate of zinc powder + potassium permanganate is 85.83% under the optimum conditions including reaction temperature of 70 ℃, potassium permanganate dosage of 3 g, zinc powder dosage of 40 g, stirring speed of 300 r/min, and reaction time of 90 min. Removal rate of Tl of zinc powder + lead acetate is 93.89% under the optimum conditions including reaction temperature of 90 ℃, lead acetate dosage of 0.8 g, zinc powder dosage of 40 g, stirring speed of 300 r/min, and reaction time of 90 min. Combined with actual industrial production, it is recommended to remove thallium from secondary replacement solution by zinc powder + lead acetate.
