Abstract:
Several treatment technologies for conventional low concentration ammonia nitrogen wastewater from nonferrous metallurgy production were reviewed and compared. Removal of ammonia nitrogen from wastewater by air stripping, fold point chlorination process, chemical precipitation, and photocatalysis was studied in lab scale. The results show that removal rate of ammonia nitrogen wastewater is 90%-99% treated by photocatalysis technology. Based on this result, a set of device with capacity of 40 m3/d to treat ammonia nitrogen wastewater with concentration of 266.74-1 509.79 mg/L by photocatalysis is developed. After treatment, ammonia nitrogen content in wastewater is 20 mg/L below with removal rate of 72% on average and 93.3% at the highest.
