Abstract:
Strontium oxide was obtained by calcining of strontium carbonate at atmospheric pressure. Reaction capacity of different materials of sagger with strontium oxide in high temperature was investigated. Effect of thickness of strontium carbonate on calcining rate was studied. Relationship between calcining time and calcining temperature in two different equipment, and activity of strontium oxide obtained by calcinations in muffle furnace and assisted with microwave were investigated. The results show that pure corundum material does not react with strontium oxide. When the thickness of material layer is less than 5 cm, calcining rate is 100% in muffle furnace at 1 250 ℃. The microwave method for calcining strontium carbonate of the same mass requires less time and has higher activity of strontium oxide.
