| Abstract: |
| Scientific analysis of 74 pieces of bronzes unearthed in the Phase AⅣof Houtaomuga Site, Da""an, Jilin Province were conducted. By means of metallographic observation and SEM-EDS, it is shown that the craftsmen at that time are able to adjust processing methods according to required types of utensils, but overall production level of the bronze ware is general. Alloy proportion of the object is stable, some samples are of the same type, and the alloy composition is similar and originates from the same tomb, which is supposed to be cast in the same batch. The copper wares unearthed in this area are mainly copper tin alloy and copper tin lead alloy, and the alloy types of both a small amount of copper tin arsenic and copper tin arsenic lead appear. It is inferred that the arsenic-bearing utensils may be smelted from arsenic ore or copper ore with arsenic ore. |
