Abstract:
Effects of additives on micro particle size of industrial heavy metal sludge bearing 2.61% Cu and 2.28% Ni during mineralization process were studied. Pyrite, sodium sulfide and sodium sulfate all can promote sulfuration mineralization of copper and nickel in sintering process, and sodium sulfate has the best effect. There are little fine metal sulfide particles of -5 μm in product, most of the particle size range is 10-30 μm, the biggest particles can reach 100 μm. Flux including alumina, sodium carbonate, quartz and sodium silicate can all improve enrichment of metal sulfide, and effect of alumina and sodium carbonate is weak, effect of sodium silicate or quartz is good. Most metal sulfide particles in product are bigger than 20 μm, the maximum particle size is bigger 140 μm. With addition of certain amount of borax, copper and nickel sulfide particles in sintered products concentrate and grow fully, and the particle size basically reach bigger than 100 μm, providing good conditions for flotation and enrichment of copper and nickel, and ideal separation indexes are obtained.
