Abstract:
Copper and cadmium residues were treated by leaching, replacement, dissolving and secondary replacement. Under given production parameters, cadmium sponge with cadmium content of 80% above and zinc content of 5% below is obtained, while copper slag with copper content of about 50% and cadmium content of 2% below is sold as raw material for copper smelting. Zinc powder consumption is as high as 1 000 kg/t. In order to reduce zinc powder consumption, the further optimization process includes leaching, replacement, pressing cake, overflow slurry making liquid, secondary replacement, and pressing cake, which is a stable operation of process and industrial production. The output cadmium cake with cadmium content of 70% above meets the requirement of cadmium sponge pyrometallurgy smelting. Zinc powder consumption is 690~730 kg/t, and cadmium recovery is 98% above.
