Abstract:
To address low uranium leaching rate of uranium tailings with large amount of gangue structure, idea of microwave pretreatment to destroy gangue structure and improve uranium leaching rate was proposed. Effect of microwave pretreatment time on uranium leaching rate was investigated by single factor method. The results show that uranium concentration in lixivium is 72.75 mg/L after 20 minutes of microwave pretreatment, and uranium leaching rate is 82.92%, 16.51 percentage points higher than that of untreated. Excessively prolonging microwave pretreatment time does not significantly improved uranium leaching rate. XRD and SEM analysis show that original sample has smooth surface and compact structure. The surface roughness of micro-cracks after 20 min pretreatment is obvious, and grain growth after 60 min pretreatment is perfect.
