Abstract:
Effects of vulcanizing agent, i.e, MnS and BaS, on removal of heavy metals were conducted. Influences of addition amount of vulcanizing agent, reaction temperature, pH value and reaction time on removal of Co, Ni, Cr and Cd were investigated. The results show that MnS and BaS have obvious effect on removal of Co and Ni, but have no significant effect on Cr and Cd. When volume of manganese sulfate solution is 200 mL, the optimum removal condition is MnS dosage of 3 g, BaS dosage of 2 g, reaction temperature of 75 ℃, pH value of 5.5, and reaction time of 3 h. Co drops from 12 mg/L to 0.03 mg/L, Ni drops from 32 mg/L to 0.53 mg/L, Cr drops from 0.50 mg/L to 0.19 mg/L, and Cd drops from 2 mg/L to 0.16 mg/L, respectively. From the perspective of economy and to avoid solution pollution to the largest extent, MnS is suggested in production.
