Abstract:
Cobalt carbonate precursor was prepared by liquid phase synthesis method with cobalt chloride as cobalt source and NH4HCO3 as precipitator. Effects of dosage and concentration of ammonium bicarbonate, holding time, aging time, and reaction temptation on Co2+concentration in mother liquor and Co precipitation rate were discussed. The results show that Co2+concentration in mother liquor is 0.045 g/L and Co precipitation rate is 99.92% under the optimum conditions including dosage of ammonium bicarbonate of 3.173 g/g, concentration of ammonium bicarbonate of 250 g/L, holding time of 10 min, aging time of 30 min, and reaction temperature of 33 ℃. Cobalt carbonate precursor has uniform particle size distribution with D50=1.428-1.488 μm, agglomerate with spherical particle as well as pure phase.
