Abstract:
      Based on characteristic analysis of present CJD concentrate jet, structure modifications of a novel concentrate jet was put forward, which included improvement of distribution cone surface and its suspension column, and design of swirling vanes at outlet of concentrate chute. A mathematical model was developed with Fluent 6.3, and simulation was carried out of flash smelting processes with CJD burner and new burner respectively under the same condition. The results show that new designed concentrate jet has the characteristics of better homogeneous dispersion of particles and gas in reaction shaft, rapid reaction of particles and high oxygen utilization rate. Moreover, circulation formed in gaseous space of settler is smaller, so that the walls of settler right below the reaction shaft will be less eroded.
