Abstract:
Flash smelting is one kind of strong oxidation smelting with high oxygen potential in reaction tower. It is inevitable to produce a large amount of Fe3O4, NiO and Cu2O, which will enter into slag which contains high content of valuable metals. Based on process of producing slag in Jinchuan Nickel Flash Furnace, nickel loss in slag is analyzed, and process to reduce nickel content in slag with calcium carbide is explored. Nickel content in slag drops by 0.03 percent point or ~11% after addition of calcium carbide.
