Abstract:
Disklike cuprous sulfide nanocrystallines were successfully prepared by high temperature pyrolysis method at 200 ℃ for 30 min applying copper chloride and laurylmercaptan as raw materials, and polyethylene glycol as surfactant. The products were characterized by XRD, UV-visible absorption spectroscopy (UV-3600), TEM, HRTEM, and EDS. The results show that prepared cuprous sulfide nanocrystallines have a hexagonal phase structure, and absorption spectrum shows an absorption peak at about 1 880 nm, which is a broadband absorption. TEM shows that diameter of cuprous sulfide crystal is about 80 nm. The photocatalytic experiments show that copper sulfide nanocrystallines have high photocatalytic activity in ultraviolet and visible regions. Degradation rate of methylene blue is 98.2% and 81.6% respectively after irradiated by 35 W xenon lamp and 450 W high-pressure mercury lamp for 30 min.
