Abstract:
To address decreasing reaction rate of iron-rich manganese dioxide ore caused by accumulation of elemental sulfur on ore particle surface during manganese leaching by “two-ore method”, charcoal powder was added in leaching process to absorb elemental sulfur and improve leaching. Effects of charcoal powder dosage, pyrite consumption, sulfuric acid concentration, leaching temperature and leaching time on manganese leaching rate were investigated. Manganese leaching rate is 96.7% under the conditions including iron-rich manganese dioxide ore of 10.0 g, pyrite consumption of 5.0 g, charcoal powder dosage of 0.1 g, sulfuric acid concentration of 1.36 mol/L, leaching temperature of 70 ℃, and reaction time of 4 h.
