Abstract:
Valuable elements (Co, Cu, Ni, Li and Mn) were acid leached by mixing waste NCM battery anode materials and Al-Ni-Co magnetic scrap materials. Effects of mass ratio of two waste materials, reaction temperature, reaction time, sulfuric acid concentration, and L/S on leaching efficiency were investigated. Leaching rate of Co, Cu, Ni, Li, Mn is all above 99.5% under the optimum process including mass ratio of two waste materials of 2.33︰1, sulfuric acid concentration of 1.1 mol/L, L/S of 6︰1, reaction temperature of 75 ℃, and reaction time of 4 h. Fe3+/Fe2+ ion forms a redox circulation reaction in acidic condition to ensure a continuous leaching reaction. This process is efficient, environment friendly and can provide an innovative process for integrated recovery of waste NCM battery anode materials and Al-Ni-Co magnetic scraps.
