| Abstract: |
| Lithium iron phosphate cathode material is considered as one of the most promising cathode materials for lithium ion batteries due to its excellent electrochemical properties. However, its development is restricted by its low conductivity and slow diffusion rate of lithium ions. Crystal structure, charge-discharge principle and electrochemical reaction model of lithium iron phosphate are described. Recent studies on improving electrochemical performance of lithium iron phosphate at home and abroad are reviewed. Influence of modification methods such as ion doping, carbon coating and nano-materials on lithium iron phosphate cathode materials for lithium ion batteries and current existing problems are discussed. Finally, development trend in this field is prospected and the ideal that further theoretical research and process improvement is the key research direction in the future is put forward. |
