Abstract:
      Leaching of chalcopyrite has slow kinetics under normal pressure. Chalcopyrite leaching rate can be improved by galvanic interaction through co-existence of pyrite and chalcopyrite in solution. Effects of pyrite on leaching of chalcopyrite in H2SO4 solution, H2SO4-Fe2(SO4)3 solution and H2SO4-H2O2 solution were explored. The results show that pyrite can effectively promote dissolution of chalcopyrite, but leaching is still incomplete. Passive film to form on chalcopyrite surface will affect transfer of material and electron during leaching. Main component of passive film is metal-deficient sulfide and a small amount of elemental sulfur.
