Abstract:
Lithium recovery from lithium-bearing lixivium of spent lithium ion batteries applying sodium carbonate, sodium phosphate and sodium fluoride as precipitants was investigated. Effects of precipitants dosage, reaction temperature, reaction time and pH value on lithium precipitation rate were explored. The results show that main factors controlling lithium precipitation rate are precipitant dosage and temperature, while reaction time and pH value have little influence with sodium carbonate and sodium phosphate as precipitants. Under the optimum conditions of sodium carbonate precipitation and sodium phosphate precipitation, lithium precipitation rate is 70.11% and 98.7% respectively. Dosage of precipitant is main factor and pH value has some effect on lithium precipitation rate, while reaction temperature and reaction time have little effect on lithium precipitation rate with sodium fluoride as precipitant. Lithium precipitation efficiency is 79.3% under the optimum conditions of sodium fluoride precipitation.
