| Abstract: |
| To address service life of electrolytic cell seriously affected by lining damage, electrode deformation and electrolytic cell leakage during pipeline magnesium electrolysis, key factors affecting service life of electrolytic cell were analyzed and measures to improve service life of electrolytic cell were put forward. The results show that main factors affecting service life of pipeline magnesium electrolytic cell include non-qualified masonry of electrolytic cell, non-standard starting system of electrolytic cell, and non-uniform distribution of electrode current during operation of electrolytic cell. In industrial production, construction level of electrolytic cell is regulated through strict control of refractory materials, levelness and perpendicularity of masonry, brick joint filler and gap. Reasonable starting system of electrolytic tank is established through strict controlling of heating rate and baking time of baking tank, mass fraction of MgCl2 in the first batch of baking tank being 50%, and adding melt according to concept of " low intensity and high frequency ". Electrode current distribution is homogenized by detection electrode current of electrolyzer and abnormal treatment. As a result, service life of electrolytic cell is greatly improved, and advantages of pipeline magnesium electrolysis technology in sponge titanium production enterprises are further highlighted. |
