| Abstract: |
| Shengguosi ancient iron smelting and casting site with area of 2 000 m2 above is located on hillside of Shengguosi near Yangqiancun village of Long’an town, Xingye County, Yulin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Composition and microstructure of five slag samples collected from the site are analyzed with metallographic microscopy, mineralographic microscopy, and SEM-EDS. The results show that it is an ancient iron smelting and casting site, and slag is mainly composed of MnO-SiO2-Al2O3. Smelting products of cast iron are transported to Censhuichang in Shaozhou of Guangdong province for copper hydrometallurgy besides for local cast pot and other productions of daily use. |
