Abstract:
A large amount of cyanide residue was produced by gold concentrate roasting-cyaniding process. In order to leach iron from cyanide residue and reduce iron entrapment on gold, decomposition of Fe2O3 in cyanide residue was studied by sulfuric acid curing method. Influence of sulfuric acid dosage on phase of iron in cyanide residue during sulfuric acid curing process, and influences of dosage of concentrated sulfuric acid and curing time on iron leaching rate were investigated. The results show that iron leaching rate is 82.64% when residue is cured at 100 ℃ for 1 h and mass ratio of sulfuric acid to tailings is 0.6. The high leaching rate of iron is mainly due to transformation of refractory Fe2O3 into soluble HFe(SO4)2?4H2O in residue during curing process.
