Abstract:
Simulated waste lead paste was treated by ammonium carbonate desulfurization conversion, oxalic acid reduction, and low temperature calcination. Effects of molar ratio of (NH4)2SO4/PbSO4, reaction time and reaction temperature on desulfurization reduction and conversion of lead paste were systematically investigated, and lead oxide powder was prepared by low temperature calcination. The results show that desulfurization rate of lead paste is as high as 97.6% under the optimal process conditions. All desulfurization products of lead paste can be converted into lead oxalate when mole ratio of (NH4)2SO4/PbSO4 is 2︰1 and reaction time is 3 h. Fine lead oxide powder with uniform shape and fine particle size can be prepared by calcining lead oxalate at 500 ℃ for 5 hours.
