| Abstract: |
| In order to make full use of limited production of bacterial liquid to extract uranium in situ, it is necessary to study biological leaching technology of underground in situ bacteria. One of the key technologies is whether iron-oxidation activity of uranium-leaching strains in in-situ leaching can meet requirements of underground uranium leaching. Acidithiobacillus ferriooxidans(512SCK-AF-17), a Acidithiobacillus ferriooxidans with ferric oxidation activity, was isolated and purified from a uranium deposit in Xinjiang, and its physiological and biochemical characteristics were systematically studied at low temperature environment of 20 ℃ and in-situ leaching tail solution. The results show that after continuous culture and gradual acclimation, ferric oxidation activity of strain is significantly enhanced, and 5 g/L Fe2+ can be completely oxidized in the system at low temperature of 20 ℃ for 30 hours. The shortest growth cycle of these strains is 16 h cultured in tail liquid with Fe2+ concentration of 3 g/L, initial pH value of 1.8, and temperature of 30 ℃. Fe2+ oxidation rate is the highest in culture environment with 20% inoculations, initial pH value of 1.8, and Fe2+ concentration of 5~10 g/L. This research results provide a scientific basis for application of biological in-situ leaching technology of sandstone-type uranium deposits. |
