Abstract:
Melting temperature and viscosity of slag with high lead content play important role for up-flow and high yield in oxygen-enriched melting bath of lead. Taking PbO-FeO-CaO-SiO2-ZnO system as research object, melting temperature and viscosity of slag were measured by ash melting point measuring instrument and inner cylinder rotary high temperature viscosimeter respectively. Influence of Fe/SiO2 mass ratio (0.9-1.3), CaO/SiO2 mass ratio (0.4-0.8) and ZnO content (5%-11%) on melting temperature and viscosity of slag was investigated. The results show that melting temperature and viscosity of slag drop with increase of Fe/SiO2 ratio, and the appropriate Fe/SiO2 ratio is 1-1.1. Melting temperature of slag rises with increase of CaO content, while viscosity drops with increase of CaO content, and the appropriate CaO/SiO2 ratio is 0.6. Melting temperature and viscosity of slag rise with increase of ZnO content, and ZnO content should be kept to be below 7% in the operating temperature of oxygen-enriched melting process.
