| Abstract: |
| Experimental study on wet flue gas desulfurization was carried out by using Bayer red mud mixed with seawater as desulfurizer. Desulfurization effects of red mud seawater slurry, red mud pure water slurry and pure seawater were contrastively analyzed. Effects of L/S, ratio of gas to liquid and temperature on desulfurization were investigated. The results show that average desulfurization efficiency is 99.62% and alkali removal efficiency of red mud is 85.06% under the optimum conditions including L/S of 9, ratio of gas to liquid of 8.0 L/m3, and reaction temperature of 60 ℃. After desulfurization, red mud can meet the class Ⅰ industrial solid waste standard, and red mud seawater desulfurization solution can meet the requirements of GB 18486—2001 marine sewage disposal standard after mixed aeration with fresh seawater. Red mud mixed with seawater used for flue gas desulfurization, which improves absorption efficiency of sulfur dioxide, provides a new way for red mud disposal and utilization of coastal alumina enterprises. |
